Description

The Kan Imagery Catalog (KICa) plug-in is a QGIS extension designed to streamline access to Earth observation data. With this plug-in, QGIS users can seamlessly connect to the UP42 catalog and search for archive imagery from the world’s leading providers, all through a single touchpoint and without leaving the QGIS environment.

How to get started?

  1. Install the “KAN Imagery Catalog” plug-in by searching for it in the “Plugins” tab.
  2. Once installed, the KAN Imagery Catalog panel will appear on the side of the QGIS interface.
  3. Connect to UP42 by clicking the “Settings” (gear icon) at the top-right corner of the KICa panel and logging in with your UP42 credentials.
  4. Define your Area of Interest (AOI) by either importing an existing AOI or drawing it manually on the map.
  5. Set your search parameters and select the collections you are interested in.
  6. Available scenes will be displayed as footprints on the QGIS map.
  7. Sort your results by date, view additional information, and preview thumbnails.
  8. Jump to the UP42 platform to purchase and further process the data.
