From raw pixels to analysis-ready data: Orthorectification from Intermap
Raw satellite imagery is geometrically imperfect. Sensor angles, atmospheric refraction, and terrain relief all introduce distortions that make accurate ground measurements unreliable. Orthorectification from Intermap corrects for this automatically, using Intermap's NEXTMap elevation models to produce imagery you can actually measure from.
This adds to UP42’s existing selection of preprocessing algorithms, enabling users to easily orthorectify data ordered through the UP42 platform. If your work involves land-use analysis, infrastructure mapping, or any application where precision matters, this removes a step that previously required external tooling. Check it out here.
Get more from your existing imagery: True color conversion
If you've acquired 16-bit Pléiades, Pléiades Neo, or SPOT imagery, you've likely hit a familiar wall: the data is rich, but not immediately usable for web mapping, GIS streaming, or most analytics algorithms, which expect 8-bit display products.
True color conversion (TCC) solves this directly on the platform. It applies color curve correction and bit conversion to your existing 16-bit data, delivering a standardized 8-bit True Color GeoTIFF without any off-platform tools or separate product orders. Try true color conversion now!
BlackSky Gen-3 is now available for tasking
BlackSky's Gen-3 constellation is now accessible on our platform for tasking, bringing 35 cm resolution optical imagery with some of the fastest turnaround in the industry. High revisit rates and last-minute tasking capability mean you're not locked into long planning windows. For teams tracking rapidly changing situations on the ground, whether that's construction activity, vessel movements, or environmental change, Gen-3 gives you the responsiveness to keep up. Take full control of your tasking workflow
Manage your projects with more flexibility using the new Cancelable orders tab. You can now select one or multiple tasking orders and cancel them directly from the console. This update removes manual hurdles and gives you the autonomy to pivot mid-project, ensuring your budget and focus stay aligned with shifting priorities. Explore tasking here.
Browse the marketplace without leaving the console
The marketplace is now fully integrated into the console, bringing your entire data sourcing workflow into a single view. Search and order data from the same place you're already working. It's a small change in navigation and a meaningful reduction in friction for anyone who regularly combines tasking and archive data in the same project. Find it in the Marketplace tab in your console navigation bar.
See your assets in a whole new dimension: Our maps now include 3D mode
Get a more accurate spatial understanding of your assets and areas of interest — the UP42 console map now lets you explore terrain and elevation in three dimensions. Toggle on 3D mode to rotate, zoom, and navigate your data like never before. It's already available to all users, check it out now on the platform!
Alongside this, we've made the overall map experience faster and easier to read. Two new options complement the speed upgrade: Outline mode reduces visual clutter when working with complex geometries, and improved contrast for satellite basemaps makes it easier to inspect assets without the map getting in the way.
