MODIS (GeoTIFF-Bundle)
Description
Provides MODIS Full Scenes Nadir Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF)-Adjusted Reflectance (NBAR) data in TIF format consisting of one file per band with metadata. These images are acquired by the Terra and Aqua satellite sensors at a daily revisit rate anywhere on the globe. The datasets are available starting with 2000.

Further information
The many data products and imagery layers derived from MODIS observations describe features of the land, oceans and the atmosphere that can be used for studies of processes and trends on local to global scales. Examples of other MODIS derived data are NDVI (rolling 8-day average), MODIS Aqua Corrected Reflectance, and MODIS Terra Corrected Reflectance.
This data contains the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) MCD43A4 Version 6 - MODIS/Terra and Aqua Nadir Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF)-Adjusted Reflectance (NBAR) Daily L3 Global 500 m SIN Grid product.
The image products are produced daily using 16 days of Terra and Aqua MODIS data at 500 meter (m) resolution. The view angle effects are removed from the directional reflectances, resulting in a stable and consistent NBAR product.
Use Cases
Important application areas for MODIS MCD43A4 imagery are: land cover monitoring (agriculture, forestry), inland water monitoring and flood mapping.
Dataset
This dataset is managed by Astraea and collected from the MODIS bucket on AWS in TIF format. For more information, please see the website on NASA.
